I'm glad the scene revival is happening. I'm even taking some inspiration from it. I just hope that none of the gross things that happened or came from it comeback, like Dahvie vanity, or the bullying kiki went through.

I'm happy to see the style making a resurgence! there's so much more resources and acceptance for it now that I wish we had back then. I was pretty young at the height of scene (like 14-16) and came from a low-income family so I made do w/ whatever I could find for free, which was usually like...legit trash lmao and stealing razor blades from my mom and putting them on elastic string to wear around my neck (yes literal sharp razor blade as a choker on my neck xD)

it was a fun time but also kinda sucked. they touched on extensions being due to hair damage but for my scene extensions (or long hair if you were able to grow it) was a status symbol. Whoever had the longest ones and the weirdest combo of real hair vs. extensions was usually more revered as ~scene~ and often at shows girls would pull each other's hair to see if they were wearing extensions and then rip them out if possible as like a power stance thing lmao (this happened to me once, but my hair was naturally long). People also would throw shit in girls' hair, like Kiki Kannibal got gum purposefully spit in her hair and she was pretty severely bullied (she's from FL where I am also from)

eating disorders were also a big deal and it was p obvious that the skinnier scene girls were held in higher regard than others.

my brother also became a scene boy and would steal my skinny jeans lmao glad that's over

also I pierced my own ear lobes w/ safety pins and stretched them (not safely! but they're fine now) thanks to scene culture. I'm hoping ppl nowadays do NOT stretch unsafely like most of us did. Tumblr was a good resource for sharing how to properly stretch your ears.

I've just watched this, and this is so cool. Those TikTok scene girls at the end of the video are really something. Wish I could recreate these looks, but my hair is not the best texture for it. (Plus I think my face would ruin it, I don't really have that "scene queen" kind of vibe.)

scene is so easy to do and such a fun way to change up ur appearance and thats why i'm glad its coming back XD especially since it died out when my age group were super young.... plus the fashion and dramatic hair just makes u feel confident!!!!! i hope it never goes away ^_^

I'm going to have to watch this. I'd be totally fine if this look came back. I know plenty of people who are scene in their heart of hearts.
